Ben Blankenship's Endless Miles
Ben Blankenship, who had a distinguished career running the 1500m race, including in the 2015 Rio Olympics, has spent decades training his body for short, intense bursts of speed. Now he's going to change all of that. In a shocking move for the running world, Ben is leaving the track and his legacy as a miler, and taking to the trails to attempt the VBC 100 Mile Ultramarathon.
In the spring of 2023, Wolf Creek Race Management reached out to our team at Homer Cinema to produce a documentary about their 100 mile ultramarathon. The goal was to tell a story that would both put their race on the map, and drive participation. Over the fall of 2023, and the spring of 2024, we coordinated the film, shot on location in Pennsylvania and Oregon, and produced this film, along with marketing material and a launch strategy. The film was launched on a channel of under 100 subscribers, and gathered over 90,000 YouTube views in the first five month without a single paid ad. We also ran an Instagram campaign with various influencers promoting the launch of the documentary which gained over 400,000 views.
